Bridging Theory and Reality in EV Powertrain Engineering

Welcome to EV-driveunit. I am an engineer dedicated to exploring and optimizing the heart of electric vehicles: the Electric Motor and Gearbox.

From Heat Transfer Researcher to EV Specialist

My journey began in Mechanical Engineering. During my graduate studies, I immersed myself in heat transfer, focusing on experimental testing rather than just simulations. When it came time to choose a career path, I was drawn to the EV industry. I believed that this emerging field would be more dynamic and innovative than traditional automotive sectors.

The thermal management of high-power electric motors presented a fascinating challenge. The scale and complexity of these systems ignited my passion, leading me to specialize in the thermal and mechanical integrity of EV drive units.

A Comprehensive Approach: Modeling, Testing, and Simulation

In the field, I don’t just stick to one area. I believe a true expert must understand the entire lifecycle of a product. My experience spans across:

  • Stator Assy Design: Hands-on experience with modeling, drafting, and production verification.
  • Performance Testing: Validating real-world data through rigorous testing protocols.
  • Multi-Physics Analysis: Moving from Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to Structural Analysis to ensure reliability.

Currently, I am expanding my expertise into NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness). My ultimate goal is to master the entire mechanical spectrum of the EV powertrain, ensuring a seamless harmony between the motor and the gearbox.

What You Can Expect from This Blog
